Colposcopy & LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure) – A colposcopy is a procedure designed to examine the cervix after an abnormal Pap smear and take tissue samples for further evaluation. A LEEP is a procedure where pre-cancerous cells of the cervix are removed. Both procedures may be uncomfortable. Some patients may opt for in-office anesthesia to ease any discomfort during the procedure.
